It is well-known, that China is leading the global EV industry. We can all remember Tesla opening their Gigafactory in Lingang Special Trade Zone in 2019, not even a year after purchasing land. As mentioned before, we ourselves are about to open a new office for our research institute focused on power electronics in the very same place. LEADRIVE believes in the great possibilities of connecting German and European engineering expertise with the thriving new energy-focused environment in China.

Since many people ask us, where and what Lingang is about, we want to shed some light on this special district. Lingang has turned into Shanghai’s main initiative on becoming a scientific and technological innovation center with global focus. Several industries such as AI, biomedicine and - as evident by our Lingang Power Electronics Research Institute - new energy vehicles and equipment manufacturers.
